Hi to all you BTF. Well hubby, myself and two children daughter 14 and son 9, have just returned from our 3rd trip in 6 years to Bali. i am so DEPRESSED!!!!. BACK TO REALITY. We had an excellent 11 days just not long enough. Anyway cut the crap and into it. we left Perth on sunday morning at 7.15. We ordered a taxi for 4.45am, but hey he turned up at 4am. Here i am still in my pj's and still running madly trying to make beds and have my cuppa!!!!! he waited and out the door we went. got to the airport in 10minutes as we are very close. We were basically the only ones there. checked our bags in only to be told that we were 25 kilos over!!!!! No it wasn't my clothes, we had collected clothes over a period of months and were planning to take them to the orphanage. Well Garuda staff said that because we hadn't contacted them to arrange it we would have to lose 25 kilos!!!!! We had a lot of baby clothes aswell, as 2 of our very dear balinese families had 2 sons in the 2 years since we were back. We started to unload the bigger clothes. We were given a massive plastic bag, and after 3 more checks back into the weighing station that plastic bag was nearly full. We only had the clothes on our back and 1 change of clothes as you buy it all over there. Finally we wre 1 kilo over and they said we were fine. we could of pais the extra $10.00 a kilo if we chose to. Anyway this bag is nearly full, and not the responsibility of Perth airport. My hubby and daughter dragged the bag and we had to leave it by a rubbish bin in the airport. i hope someone made good use of it. we managed to keep all the baby clothes. Got through then no problems. Waiting in departure lounge and finally boarding. i am a teacher so we have to travel in school holidays. well there were a few children from my school on the same flight!!!! Got to our seats in the middle of the plane and all you could smell was vomit. OMG we have to put up with this for the next 3 and a half hours. oh well just looking forward to getting to paradise. Air hostesses sprayed heaps of spray on the floor for most of the trip. All in all the trip was fine. We arrive at Denpasar on time. Got through VOA in about 20 minutes. going through customs there was a x marked on one of our suitcases. We had about 6 security guards around us. i had bought a heap of lindt chocoalate and had that in my carry bag. Thank god, because it waS a good sweetener. My husband is a huge Perth Glory fan, and the club had been kind enough to give us about 20 little soccer balls inflated. We had them in thos case. they thought there were drugs in them. They were going to slash the balls, and i'm like no, no there for the kids on the beach. they kept laughing at me saying 'you Schappelle'. Anyway after i handed the chocolate out they suddenly closed our bags and let us go. Our dear friend Spider from Dolphins Restaurant was there to pick us all up. We had said a van big enough for the 4 and luggage. Anyway him and his friend picked us up. i now know what sardines feel like. They dropped us off at the Jayakarta. Got there just after 1pm. Fantastic reception, and shown to our rooms. Got what we wanted 2 interconnecting rooms. Rooms were fine, nice big balcony, so we took the kids outside furniture and put it out the fron on our balcony. Off to the pool for a swim and many bintangs!!!!!! next part to come
