I never been to Pelalawan. But here are some info for you.
You can take a flight from Denpasar to POLONIA ( Medan airport). If you decided to spend a few nites in Medan. Try to contact these hotels. POLONIA Hotel. Hotel Danau Toba on Imam Bonjol Street. This is one of the best service by far in Medan.
Or take a boat from Tanjung Periuk ( Jakarta port ) to Belawan ( Medan port ).
Let me know if you are planning to be around Lake Toba or Parapat area or even Karo highland. I spent years there.
