Hi Katrina,
We went twice last week and it was great! My boys are 7 and 9. They didn't break anything. My 7 yo (aka complete maniac) did manage to cut his head. This sounds bad (but was OK) and really he had to try quite hard to do it! At the end of the slide you are supposed to get straight out of the water but he didn't and was swimming around and shot up right underneath the end of the slide and cut his head. He wasn't bothered but he was very quickly taken by staff to a woman whom my husband believes was a doctor ( by her professional manner and surgery on the premises). Anyway it was a minor cut, but we were impressed by the fast and professional response. Also noted that staff are extremely vigilant about supervising rides and run a "tight ship". Not too much opportunity for hooning about here! So I'm not sure how my son managed to elude them long enough to actually cut his head (I imagine they were blowing their whistles at him! I was still on the slide).
As another poster said family pass is US$66 and you can pick up a 15% discount voucher from the tourist stall 100metres to the left of Waterbom as you face it. You can also pay a reduced amount (sorry can't remember how much) for a voucher at the restaurant before you leave and then you can come back another day (within 7 days). Gazebo was about AUs$20 and lockers weren't much. We got a gazebo the first day but didn't really need it, just got sun loungers the next time. Someone nicked one of our hired towels from the cabana so we lost the deposit on that. Food was very reasonable and surprisingly nice. Australian caterers could learn something here! A great day and lots of fun! I completely overcame my fear of the slides and went on everything, so was quite chuffed! Have fun!!
