Hello B I've stayed at Alam Shanti and Alam Jiwa, last trip I checked out Alam Indah and we have booked there for December.
The three hotels are so different but the thing they all have in common is the ambiance, something that is hard to put into words, the staff seem to glide around and every where you look is so incredibly decorative it almost feels like you are staying in a beautiful story about Bali.
Alam Jiwa and Shanti are on the same side of the road and set along the edge of the rice fields on a small bubbling creek, Jiwa is further to walk into Ubud, Indah and Shanti are only about ten minutes to the bottom of monkey forest road. Indah is on the other side of the road and has more of a vista type view set on the edge of a gorge and over looking the monkey forest, fields and river.
Shanti is the newest, set on a flat area with paths wandering in and out of rooms and gardens, Jiwa is more of a jungle feel and Indah is the oldest.
In June I stayed at Saren Indah with "the girls" and we checked out heaps of hotels for fun, plus we've all stayed in different ones before, I kept on saying to them "wait till you see the Alam hotels" and they were like "yer yer whatever" well their mouths fell open when they saw the Gangga room at Shanti and they were writing down room numbers at Jiwa as well, even my sister who loves Legian/Kuta and always wants to be in the middle of it all agreed they were amazing.
I left my email open if you want more info.
Cheers Deb.
