We arrived back last week from another great trip, spending 13 days in Amed and 3 nights in Sanur. Not an exciting trip perhaps by many standards, very very little shopping done and not one massage to be had. Flew Perth to Jakarta and then on to DPS both ways
Lots of time spent riding about the countryside and snorkelling or chatting with friends around Amed. Stayed again at Anda Amed Resort, so well looked after, the staff here seem to have watched our son grow up over the last four years.
Best food in the area to be had at Wayan's Warung (Lipah), Sama Sama Cafe (Jemuluk), Sails Restaurant (are you in Lean or Lipah Rangatira?) and Anda Amed Resort.
Had the privilege to attend the family wedding of some friends over the course of a couple of days - great experience, lots of sitting around talking, drinking kopi and admiring/sniping about other girls' kebayas.
Just a few days in Sanur to round off the trip and a bit of shopping, most of which I forgot to do after a strong hive reaction to possible MSG or similar. Mental note to self: Self, pack the anti-histamine next time, balsalm gosok does not work!
Stayed again at Puri Ayu, very nice, breakfast has improved immensely (thank God) and had fantastic meals at Pergola and Warung Pregina (I think that this is the best restaurant in Sanur) Pizza is still good at Stiff Chilli and Massimo also.
Sanur seemed pretty busy with various conferences, some munduk travellers and the Asian games about to kick off. Amed was lovely and quiet!
Looking forward to our next trip, hopefully in April!
