you will probably be better off in a losman because there is no way you will be paying local rate for a kost and many will not rent for only a month.
One of our interns rented for a year and luved the experience but she had no furniture except a bed, no fan, dim lights, couldn't boil a jug and had a mandi of cold water and a squat toilet. The ceiling fell in in the wet season and a leg fell off the bed due to rot so the landlord quickly fixed it by chopping off the other legs. On the plus side she made alot of friends and learnt Indonesian and can now play a guitar. During her time she did have time out looking after our places during holidays.
