Yes, Air Asia is a point to point airline. They do not guarantee that you will make your connection.
After checking their timetable, you will need to book Melbourne to KL (priced in $A) and KL to Bali (priced in Ringgit). You must allow at least three hours for the connection in KL or if that is not possible, to stay overnight in KL.
I have booked and paid for a ticket from the Gold Coast to KL for $A134 taxes included and KL to Bali for $A40 (taxes included).
