Spent a week there 2 years ago - a free week for attending a timeshare presentation. We very much enjoyed it. The place is small, run by a pleasant extended English family. The rooms are comfy, well appointed. It's a great base for day/half day trips to the many worthwhile sights in the area - the traditional village 6 ks away is a must and there are many other worthwhile destinations. We had our own transport but it is easy to arrange for a driver either from the hotel of from any of the many touts on the main drag - a few mins walk away.

If you find the beach people a hassle then just mention it to the staff - we quite enjoyed chatting with them & I was very much hoping to do a fishing trip in a Balinese boat but the weather gods were against it. We were not pressured in any way there & although we were supposed to sit through a timeshare presentation it just didn't happen.

A close friend bought a timeshare there several years ago & wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bali. Horses for courses. Doesn't suit us as hubby surfs & there's no decent surf nearby. Besides, he surfs elsewhere in Indonesia & only goes to Bali to meet me for a week or 2.

See Filo's tips for things to do in the environs.
