There are many different carriers you can go with for local sim cards, i always use sim pati, it costs 25000rp for a starter kit and you can get them from most wartels or internet cafes or they will at least point you in the right direction....
If you will be calling home often there is a "carrier code" you can put in front of the number to make the calls super cheap. I am sure if you ask the shop attendant they will be very helpful.
And make sure your phone is not network locked before you go, so that you can put another sim card in it...
