only ever once going on holidays and that was to see some relatives in Melbourne.
We drove from Sydney to Melbourne in a clapped out car, no air con, vinyl seats and 3 kids in the back who fought all the way there (my poor parents) and you know what???? We thought we had hit the big time because we were actually going out of the state on holiday.
I think my parents saved an eternity to take us on that trip
We do indeed have it lucky - as does my son who has had quite a few trips to Bali and he's only 16
Thanks Colleen, sometimes someone just needs to put things into perspective for us.
Besides - when we were first married interest rates were 17% - unemployment was dire and everything in general was a bit grim - certainly not as bad as the 80's that's for sure.
