Typhoid is something that you would not want to get, so why risk it. You might be very careful but the person preparing your food might not be. You can have tablets instead of an immunisation for typhoid. It seems that different doctors seem to offer different opinions so perhaps check the on line travel doctors site if you have concerns. Both times I have been to Bali recently, my GP has suggested being up to date in immunisations for Hep A and Hep B, tetanus & diptheria (combined shot), and typhoid.
