find out more is to buy a lonely planet guide, or something similar, and go from there. they talk about so many different places in bali and also give advice regarding guesthouses and things to do.
the majority of people on this forum talk about the southernmost parts of the island, but there are so many other beautiful towns and villages to visit.
im not criticising people who stick to the southern most areas. i guess its just a matter of 'whatever floats your boat'.
why not climb Mt Batur for sunrise? snorkel off of Menjangan island? learn to dive and see the Mola Mola? head over to java and climb Mt Bromo (again, for sunrise)? visit Lombok? komodo? visit the orang utans in kalimantan?
sure, most of these are not on bali, but they are all well worth the trip.
