The next twelve days we spent at Kuta Sea View Cottages - three of our group went to Amed to scuba dive etc and joined us at Kuta for the last 6 days - more to tell on that later though.
We did a few day trips, Blue Point at Uluwatu was a high light for me for 150,000 for the day you are given a towel, lunch, drink and can use the pool all day what a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean, we watched a few people marry in the glass chapel and just sat back and read and swam all day you could even pay and use the day spa if you liked and after that we went to watch the Kecak dance at sunset, those monkeys are very cheeky there they tell you to take off your glasses and what do people do wear glasses.
Had breakie at Ku De Ta on our last day hmm the baked beans were real yummy and eggs benedict -yummy. mind you it took over an hour to get back to Kuta because of all the extra visitors in Bali - i will never stay in Bali again at the end of Ramadan.
Went to see Mr Honeyman as advised by all loved the fact that the transaction happens in the drive way of the Bintang supermarket purchased two pairs of normal every day glasses and one pair of sunnies only for 600,000 each i thought they were a bargain and i saw him at 10am and i had all three by 7pm that same day - service with a smile- great value. Went to Animale shop just up the road same side as Bintang and purchased a few pieces of clothing and shoes.
We all went to Melasti for facials and hot rock massage and then another sort of massage for 1 1/2 hours and at the end they drip the oil on your forhead - great value and they also use those martha tillar products you guys brag over and sell them also - not sure if they are cheap but my friend purchased them and thought she had herself a bargain.
Went to water boom when all the extra visitors from Jakarta etc were in bali for ramadan oh my god we could not even get a tube to ride the slides so off we all went and got a refund no problems - they even put a sign out saying park closed. i have never seen so many people there - oh well will go back next year.
Because we stayed between Poppies 1 and 2 we shopped alot there my favourite little places to eat are Bali Agung and Tree House both in poppies 1 cheap places to eat.
Went to Carrefour pretty good shopping centre the cakes and bread oh my goodness i just got fat looking at them and the chicken pies are gourmet they even heat them up for you. I do prefer Mackro though because i like to buy rice and other food products in bulk to give to my family in Uluwatu.
Ate a couple of lunches at sea side at Legian - all meals were great so a good place to eat.
We walked through the Kumala Pantai a few times we actually got married there back in September 2004 i like the place but the amount of people by the new pool was enough to put me off staying there, i think i will keep that hotel for out of school holiday times. My favourite Puri RaJa was fully booked so i will be trying to book there for next year.
We rode out to Tanah Lot and the others got a driver to take them did not think we would get the sunset because of the rain clouds but we were not disappointed the sunset came.
Our three scuba divers then joined us - well they tried to Garuda Orient had over booked or the hotel - whoever some one did we had paid for this trip many months ago,so they had one night with us at kuta sea view and then another night at Hard Rock Hotel - somewhere i would never stay at - you should see the corridors to get to your room - yuk yuk yuk give me a lovely tropical garden to walk by any day, and then they had 4 nights at sanur - can you believe it no where near us so we were most disappointed our travel agent is trying to get them a refund on their accomodation part of their holiday - fair enough because this is not what was booked - we wanted a holiday together to go to dinner and have a few too many drinks together etc. oh well there is always next year hey!!!!!!!!
Otherwise we had a great time my friend Tracey had excess luggage 27 kilo so she just paid 150,000 and all good!! The best news is we will now be able to fly out of Brissie no more flying to Sydney yeh save ourselves a few hundred $$$ more for me to spend in Bali.
Thanks everyone this is the first time i have written about my holiday, every day was action packed and i have not written it all down but my high light was seeing my family at Uluwatu that i have known for 10 years i love to see the kids smile and their eyes light up when they see what we have bought for them and i love hearing them call their mum and saying michelle is here hurry!!!!
