Hi all just back from 17 days in beautiful Bali meet hubby who stayed at Uluwatu for a few nights and then drove around with his new toy hand held GPS - said it was great and did not get lost!!!

All up there was 9 of us travelling together and first time for a few of them.

We had 5 nights at the Pertiwi in Ubud all four rooms were outside the first swimming pool - good spot, clean and comfy (we have previously stayed here twice and like the position of this hotel)

It was Tony and my 4 year wedding anniversary and we celebrated with everyone - as you do on your wedding anniversary we had the most beautiful dinner at our most favourite restuarant in Ubud Tropical Bale. It was such a romantic setting candles, flower petals laid on the floor in the shape of love hearts and lovely plates/cuttlery etc - I emailed the owner Tony in advance and he set up our table just perfect. I do recommend this restuarant to anybody staying in Ubud or if you do a day trip go and have lunch over looking the lovely green rice fields or if time is short just pop in for a lovely fresh juice - they are yummy.

We also contacted Wyan regarding our bike ride as advised by this forum, well what a great day we all had we all rode except one she felt she was too old - hey i may use that excuse next time (38 years - i am) bikes are in great condition, lots of water supplied and lots of stops to catch your breath etc. The last few hills nearly killed me as i was so hot but hey i did it and a nice cold face washer at the end was my saviour - they could have tipped the whole esky of water over me and i would have been in heaven!!! The cost was 350,000 for adults and 300,000 for my 14 year old son and the passenger also paid 300,000 - she thoroughly enjoyed her day she was in air conditioning, took some great photos for us and also felt like part of the team. The meal at Wayans family home was beautiful we all got to try things that i guess we would not have ordered if we had seen it on a menu, and his family are all so lovely. Currently under construction is a area for a cooking class - cant wait till next September to try it out. Oh i guess if you know you are going to do this ride please take along some excersise books that Wayan can donate to the local children for their schooling. So thank you again Wayan for a wonderful day - i know he will be watching out for my JBR. Oh yeh this guy is so prompt with his emails he will surely go a long way with this business.

Well after reading different reports about the Bali Safari Park we all thought we would take a look anyway. Loved the elephants you can get close up purchase some carrotts and sit along the front of the bale near the water and feed them some as they come out of the enclosed area and then save one for when you stand up to have a photo with them. Loved my photo with those cheeky orangatangs - they certainly have a personality. The lions/tigers whatever how sad they looked dead to the world and that was for the whole day beacuse i went back to look at them before we left too. Lunch was great and we enjoyed watching the lions -Tsavo Lion Restuarant. The high light for my son was watching the lions bonking - oh the small things that amuse boys!!
Verona Spa tried this place as advised pedicure 55,000, sea salt scrub 1hr 45 min 120,000, balinese massage 1hr 75,000 any many other things that i never had enough time to try - next year. At the end of your treatment you got a small plate of fruit and a green tea - great service.
