- you can find things that are no longer used like wall maps, stuff from the long-lost property cupboard, 1998 seniors tops that will not now be sold, boxes of good chalk with bright colours (not the wishy-washy stuff you get at cheap shops), old stamps of 'Good work', animals etc, and stamp pads and inks (put them in ziplok bags for the flight over). Think of the teachers as well as the kids. They teach in poor circumstances too, poorer than you I'll bet. If you can turn up an old laptop computer that's real gold. See if your IT techie will clean up the HDD for you and load it with something better than Windows 98SE if you can.
Ask the staff to donate all their old bras. Women in Bali spend any spare money on their children and husbands before themselves. A garbage disposable bag of bras will almost get you a week of free massages on the beach. Old toys can be collected too, see your local party shop for a donation of balloons, out of date or discontinued colours.
Don't fall for the old trap of buying exercise books to take over. The cost of freight will make them far more expensive than the familiar stuff you can buy over there.
Have a look at the link below for more ideas.
Thanks for caring.
Have a great holiday.
