I think the hotel would be a good choice for the age groups in that it is opposite a really nice part of the beach, it's close to restaurants and it's not a terribly long walk to get to the shopping area - we just walked along the beach to the Jayakarta and cut through to the front of that hotel to start our shopping expeditions...however, in saying that, it isn't a sprawling hotel with gardens like you get at Jayakarta, Santika, Patra Jasa etc etc... it is contemporary in design so doesnt have the very "Bali" feel (which was a shock at first but we got used to it after a day or two and loved it for what it was). The pool bar area is very cruisy and there are lounge beds up there that you can relax on while eating and drinking. I would liken the pool to more of a lap pool style rather than the larger ones you find at the hotels mentioned above. They have filtered water on tap that you can help yourself to while at the pool which I thought was a very cool idea. I didn't feel cramped by the area really and personally, I prefer not to be surrounded by people at the pool...
I could post some photos of our apartment but not sure how...maybe private email?? Someone can probably tell me how to do that :) But layout works well with kids (we have a 4yo and a 7yo) - we just put ours to bed and then had drinks in the lounge or on the balcony overlooking the pool. All rooms have plasma tv too with cable.
The brekky was either on voucher (included I guess, but we didn't do a package so took care of our own brekky)- there was a la carte or continental... seemed a little pricey to do brekky Rp75000? ish whereas any of the places along the street were Rp40000 for same food.
Hope that helps a bit
