I've been a 'regular' visitor since 1992. I go over to do nothing and at the price and convenience (short flight from Perth) I can justify spending the money (to myself). If the prices rise steeply I will have to give some serious thought into if it's worth it or not. If the rises put it on a par with Thailand etc I would bite the bullet and change my destination (despite the longer flight). The Balinese wouldn't notice or lose any money as someone else would take my place! If the hotel prices do double I wonder if the staff wages double, I doubt it!
