your warranty won't be valid here in Australia. An excuse for another trip to Bali if something goes wrong with it though! They are about the same price and so it is better to buy within 30 days of leaving and if you have over $300.00 on your reciept and take along all the goods to the airport you can claim back the tax duty at the TRS office before you leave for Bali. You don't have to take all the packaging just the actual goods whcih means you can play around with it and load up songs before you leave for Bali. Accessories for the i-Pod are actually cheaper over there but you may need to buy these to get your reciept above the $300.00 to be able to claim the tax back.
