We are going over again in Feb 09 for trip no.4,and staying at Bali Ayu for the 2nd time, having stayed at Sanur and Ubud before the Ayu is clean and close to everything. Quieter than the heart of Kuta but still not far away. Close to the beach,great restaurants and shopping. The staff are very friendly and helpful....and its cheap...what else do you need ?
