From my experience if time permits I would head straight to Prima Medika Hospital or Shanglah Hospital both in Denpasar.
My experience with BIMC was that they would not treat my husband(Who was not responding) until i raced back to the hotel and got my passports for security and had to give them our visa account numbers then when they cleaned him up they decided they could not treat him and charged the earth to transfer him to the hospital, they stayed (at the time I thought oh how nice, realised later they stayed to find out the cost of treatment at Prima Medika - Yes they charged us for treatment that occurred at Prima Medika - That we had also paid direct to Prima Medika - remember they had our passports. Once I got home and re checked the bills I also noticed BIMC had charged us twice for 2 things identical - I emailed them and kept emailing until i got a response - Funny that they credited my visa back for those 2 things. My advice would be in the midst of all the stress check and double check your bill before paying if you go to BIMC. BIMC added more stress to a very stressful situation. Their fees were ridiculous, they use stand over tactics. They charged for theirs and the hospitals work,(we had paid the hospital direct) Their bill was wrong. Their report to the travel insurance was so wrong it was so incorrect, even as far as the times etc. We were charged for the time the persons from BIMC stayed, 1 doctor an assistant/nurse and the driver of the ambulance - they didn't need to stay. They tried to force my husband after the hospital had released him for him to go back there and stay until our flight(the next night) they said they would escort him to his flight. Wow I could only imagine how much their bill would of been for that - we paid around $3,800 (?sorry my memory is not the best - I do remember getting 8,000 FF points - double for outside of Australia) This was for both BIMC - (1 Xray - insurance report and transport to Prima Medika and staying) and prima medika (1 scan - 1 Xray - specialist being called in - being stitched/medication/1 meal-that we gave to the staff - this bill was way cheaper than BIMC's)
I have noticed in the past on here that those who post their experiences if bad/negative get flamed, so thank you for speaking up.
