medical services be of a high standard when almost without exception, the medical personal you are seeing has never studied outside Indonesia and was taught his trade by people who had never been outside either?

In Australia and NZ for example, the teaching staff at medical schools all have high quality poste graduate degrees form top schools in other countries and are also taught by visiting professors.
Accordingly the product that comes out the end has a high class up to date degree.

To become a specialist you need a poste graduate degree from somewhere prestigous in your chosen field with constant updating in new techniques.

The two staff nurses at BIMC are both experienced but because of the rules here they can't treat patients.

Same with the BIMC staff in Jakarta - they can only advise.

No wealthy Indonesian would dream of having anything but the mildest procedure here which accounts for the billions of dollars Indonesians spend on medical stuff offshore.

So do as the Indonesians do and get on that plane home for all but the smallest things.
