We get off the boat and on shore to be welcomed by you buy,
motor scooter hire?Say to one guy Santa we may hire scooter later,after we do a bit of looking around.
So off we walk up the hills and take in the wonderful views and
people busily working with the seaweed.We go higher /lower passing homestays
villas and arrive at Mushroom Bay.Its time for a drink then a swim
water freezing but so blue and clear.Next lunch at the cafe,great
food and views.We decide to walk back and hire a scooter from Santa.
All up it was about an 1hr @ bit walk there and back.
Now this a brave move for Groovy Gran to being going on a scooter!As
shes only been on motorbike once.We seek Santa out,gives us the keys
and off we zoom.I'm holding on to GP very tightly watch the chooks,
watch the kids!!As we get further away from traffic I start to enjoy
this wind blowing in the hair and the friendly waves,smiles and high
fives!Our scooter travels took us all around the island including
Cennigan Island where GG starts to pack bricks again going across
that narrow bridge with lottas of gaps.I say to myself don"t look.
Before we know it we"re across,another grey hair on the head added.
To end our day we go back for a swim at Mushroom Bay.Better get
going boat goes at 5.We follow the road we took that morning
and somehow ended at a dead end,so turn around and follow our tracks!!
Supposedly.Wer"e getting higher and higher in the hills,ask a girl which
way,shes points we go wrong way.Now at top of hill looking down
a gully,balinese look up no cant ride down here.Times running out GP
dumps me,I will walk down gully then run forest run to hold up boat.
I put the running shoes on he takes off.Will I see him again!
I was down that gully and on beach 5 mins flat,then its a quick
jog to village.As I see the boat coming in.
I arrive,search for Santa no sign of him!Someone offers me a lift
to find GP,I decline will wait.I do the shop laps many times,its
4.45 will GP make it.Just about to call defeat then who walks around
corner GP and Santa minutes later.Keys are thown,see ya next time.
At the boat everyones waiting,giving us the looks!!We scramble to
our seats and burst out laughing,just another day in paradise.
