I think the reason for closing down the route is very clear:
They lost money on it, simple as that.
Eventhough the plane is full, it doesn't mean that they are making money. Maybe GA sold too many of the cheap tickets instead on focusing on the business class segment.
The route would not have been closed down if the numbers were good.
Look at Air Asia. They close their non-profitable routes very, very fast. They have now removed most of their Malaysia flights from Bali, only keeping KL and CGK. A shame, as I was booked on the Kota Kinabalu flight next year, but not anymore...
