What is a holiday without children giving their parents a heart attack. Well reading this forum for years now I know why I print out 100's of bits of information and take them in my notebook. We decided to go the Discovery centre for lunch and went to A & W which is like Mcdonalds,my 16 year old son hadn't been feeling well for a few days and went off to the bathroom on the other side of the centre. We were all sitting down starting to eat and he got to the door way said my name and collapsed onto the floor with his eyes rolling back in his head.Of course all I thought about was the worse .Got my notebook out to ring Dr S.P.Ari(thanks Filo and Kuchingya),I cut this out never thinking I would need it,the manager of the restaurant was wonderful. When my son was well enough they carried him back to the hotel and was put on a luggage trolley and went in the lift to our room.Dr Ari came about 1/2hr later and has good english and a lovely man.He said his blood pressure had dropped severely and that is why he collapsed due to severe gastorenteritis and dehydration.A couple of needles later and 4 lots of medications hopefully he would be ok in 24hrs.He charged $115.00 which was more than reasonable we have travel insurance anyway but it could have been worse. For rehydration he was told to drink pocari sweat which has electrolytes and sugar and salt which is available ant the mini marts and Matahari's.Back to normal in a couple of days.
