I live in Jakarta, it depends how many days are you going to spend here? There are heaps of shopping malls... and they are still building more.
You can visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in East Jakarta which is basically Indonesia in miniture.. which has exhibits from every province of Indonesia.
You can visit the national museum... the Sunda Kelapa wharf's where you can see the tradition boats loading and unloading the cargo.
Ancol has a few good seafood resto's and a theme park. And also its own waterpark. Very very busy on weekends especially Sundays. Would suggest to visit on a week day. Whatever you do, dont swim in the ocean here... its disgusting :)
There is the first Safari Park in Indonesia just outside of Jakarta in Puncak.. again best to visit on a weekday (no weekend traffic or crowds) and it's much better than the one in Bali :)
There are plenty of nice hotels and villas you can stay at in Puncak...with cool weather and views across tea plantations :)
You could do a trip to Bandung it now is only 2 hours by car from Jakarta via the new toll road. Or you could catch the train.. great views from here as well :)
Any other questions, feel free to email me :)
