I understand the sentiment behind your comment cath...that's for sure.
But I reckon the real laugh is on Garuda and Jester airlines. Garuda dumped Adelaide and Brisbane like a hot stone when times got a bit tough when it could just have easily kept at least one flight a week in place that came via Melbourne or Sydney as the case may be. Even as Bali regained momentum, Garuda kept its head buried deep in the sand and thought that if it didn't look in our direction, we weren't there. Once again they chose short term gain over long term prosperity.
Now, the opposition's got the jump on them and Garuda's rusty old Spin Doctor's gone into overdrive trying to paint the big bird up as doing us all a big favour.
Well, judging by the number of early-takers on this forum for the Virgin package it doesn't look like too many are buying the story that Garuda's selling! I suspect that with the launch of Bali Virgin, Garuda is going to have to work long and very hard before it gets anywhere near the marketshare it once enjoyed out of Brisbane and Adelaide - not to mention Perth!
As for Jester airlines...when were they ever in the race in Adelaide or Brisbane? Johnnie-come-lately Jester airlines may be Dennis' fave flyers...but for me: it's long live the Virgin! Cheers - kevin
