The Balinese love children and will generally accomodate you wherever they can. I would actually recommend taking a child over not taking one, even if you have to borrow one. You'll have an awesome time. We've taken our children over 3 times since they were born. The oldest is 3 and the youngest 1. My wife took the oldest by herself one trip when she was still 6 months old and had no trouble whatsoever. Also many of the Hotels have Childrens Play rooms and baby sitting if you need it etc.. My 3 year old walks with us everywhere and never complains about the heat. Her little legs get worn out sometimes, but there are air conditioned taksi's everywhere if you need. It really comes down to the individual, but we found it 10 times easier then doing the same thing in australia. The balinese are marvellous with kids.
