Its an economy issue, not a safety issue.
I would like to see more poeple with a lot of extra kilos to pay more, as this make MY ticket more expensive as the airline uses more fuel and ticket prices will in the long end rise.
If you know you are bringing to much luggace, expect to pay. No need to argue with the check-in staff, they are only doing their job. They need to think about their employeer, not the passengers that think they can get away with bringing whatever amount they would like.
