just returned from one of our best holidays in bali, left garuda on a wednesday good flight especially with the anticipation of spending 3 gliorious weeks in bali and spending with our wonderful friends, hoping the voa would be quick well we arrived Galungan day do not know if this had any effect but it took 2 and half hours to get through imigrasi but hey we were in bali still amazes me how sloooow they are when we departed sydney hundreds of travellers processed so efficiently. Our wonderful driver/friend was waiting as usual with his watermelon smile , the wonderful smells of bali and off to our first hotel Segara Village, Sanur one of our friends owns this hotel so thought we would venture outside our comfort zone and stay at Sanur, the hotel was wonderful beautiful grounds and bungalows, I have to say eventhough we have eaten at restaurants at Sanur really not impressed with staying at large hotels, I have never encountered at our hotel in Legian people reserving pool lounges and they are very limited but this seems to be the done thing in big hotels, so I braved it and if a lounge was unused for 1 hour removed the towels. I cannot believe that people actually get up on holidays at 5.30am just to reserve a lounge (pretty sad situation)unfortunately my husband and self came down with a really bad flu so being unwell did not help our opinion on our first stay at sanur, I found the market sellers really pushy and felt definately outsite of our comfort zone of legian. did enjoy bonsai restaurant, spirit cafe, beach cafe and the band called Traffic Blues who played at segara village 1 night so much so that we went to see them play at Koris last Wednesday night. So 1 week down and 2 wonderful weeks to follow we organised our driver Scooby Doo to transfer us to our oldie but a goodie Kuta Lagoon Resort in Legian, this was our 13th stay at KLR and each time we return with more friends and family we had 7 rooms booked, when we arrived the owners from Jakarta , the General Manager and staff were waiting the GM greeted us and said he had a surprise for us, I said please we are just glad to be home and then proceeded over the bridge to our rooms well when we turned the corner they had a sign made up for us with there logo welcoming us to their hotel, the kindness of the balinese never ceases to amaze me and always brings tears to my eyes, where else in the world would anyone go to so much trouble the rest of our group fly in today our wonderful sons, little sister and niece, nephew and friends and friends from Noosa more to come hilites and restaurants to come
