We arrived at the Suriwathi at about 5pm and went straight out to head down to Sammy and Suzies for a Bintang and catch the sunset. We have never seen Bali this busy, there are people everywhere. Along the way we catch up with different shop keepers that we buy stuff from each trip. It's lovely to see that things have improved for them.
We spend Monday and Tuesday around Legian and Kuta doing all the necessary shopping. Handbags, silver jewellery, mens clothes, Revlon, Shoes and more handbags....
Tuesday night we have plans as it is our good friend, Wayan's birthday. We have known Wayan since our first trip in 2003. He was our driver and tour guide. He still is our driver but we now think of him like family. We all head over to Jimbaran Bay for a feast and wander along the many restaurants checking out their fish while Wayan converses with the restaurants and gets the best prices for the freshest fish.
We end up with red snapper, white snapper, prawns, muscels, squid and crabs. All this and a few drinks each for 5 people and it's only about $60. My Aunty declares that it was the best fish she has ever tasted.
The Bali BeeGees are wandering around singing so we get them to come over to our table and sing Happy Birthday to Wayan. We then managed to keep them at our table as long as we could as we requested as many songs as we could. Isn't it funny how there are certain songs that you just always associate with Bali. It would be fun one day to start a thread and name them and see if we all think of the same songs.
Weds - We did the trip to Geneva (girls only) and wandered along the aisles slowly filling our trolleys. Things don't seem to change much here but I still manage to find stuff to buy.
