I don't know about the xmas, new year period but I dropped in while in Bali in August and Grumpy said they have been very quiet with tourists and are now mainly occupied by locals. It was very quiet during our visit which was a real shame. We had contemplated staying for a couple of days while there however decided against it. The vibe just wasn't the same and I stayed there last year and had a blast. Jimmy is no longer there due to it being so quiet. He is now actually at the Legian Pub. If it were me I would probably suggest the Bounty as Troppo Zone would not be what you would be expecting. You could always just drop in to see the staff and have a few drinks. Troppo Zone really need to look at renovating the rooms etc and start re marketing the hotel if they want to survive. This of course is just my opinion and others may say differently.
