I am an old hand who worked in Asia for years and the shaky money changers have still managed to trick me! I only use the Gov't certified money changers (usually behind a glass window) - they give you large notes and a written receipt. The dodgy ones always offer a cheaper rate and always pay in small notes so you end up with bundles and bundles of notes. They distract you with a question and whack half the proceeds into a draw or under a folder and you walk out non the wiser. There have been many posts on this topic if you search the archives. The Gov't certified money changers are 100% fair and above board. If you do try the street guys and do get ripped off simply go back and front them and suggest you;ll call the police. Sad but true!
