that quite a few people will be asking. Hopefully tourists over the last few less busy years won't be put off because of the crowds. Like you they should get out of the Kuta/Legian area and see some of the less touristy areas. Ubud may get busier but not as busy as Kuta and Amed should be OK until everyone thinks to take a lookey and then that's it everyone will be going there!
I would imagine that the busier it gets in Kuta more and more people will venture out a bit. The unpleasant bit will be walking on the sidewalks in a crush and maybe having to book so far ahead for holidays and maybe booking for meals at some of the up market restaurants.
