Robbis came to take us back to Legian, nice trip back. Both of us have upset tummy's today so had afairly quiet day, got into the Yakult and also Pocari Sweat which is great for replacing the salts you lose with bali bottom !!
Later on walked up to Bintang Silver on Jln Padma Utara and got some nice silver jewellery...I always buy a bity form here it is fixed price and they rarely discount in my experience.Went across to The Coffee Shop and had a light lunch of chicken baguetts/ wraps YUM. Had a look through the apartment nearset the cafe which was a 2 bedder....really nicely done with small kitchen, all you'd need for a family or 2 couples.
Picked up our leather jackest at Dolphin Leather, both handbags neede adjustments so another day.
Back to Ketuts for guys shirts etc.
Drink at Billy's on the way home then relaxed before walkinh up to Puri Raja and through onto the beach and dinner at Seaside. All thses restaurants are very busy with large groups of young and old. Both had mexican style dinners which were excellent. Walked up to 66 then back through Kumala Pantai. Stooped into the internet cafe on the way home and was pleasantly surprised how fast their service is now as compared to a couple of years ago.Cost 8,000 for half and hour.
At Zanzibar I got a copy of The Food For Life cookbook which is 50,000 and raises money to help the paople of Papua. All recipes are from many well known Bali restaurants. Great reminder of Bali.
Obviously not a good enough rest today and the tummy protests all night with nasty stomach cramps.
Sunday 10th....both slept till 10.30....must've needed that !!
Missed breakkie, got a taxi up to Senspa where I had a facial andf manicure and friend had hot stone massage...this is a very new spa and is still being finished off. I wasnt at all impressed with my treatments, the facial was very rough and I still had nail polish on after the manicure...this had been recommended to us from my friend and she loved it so maybe I got a bad day ??
Got some Buscopan from the Apotek near Bintang Supermarket which was a godsend...had a light lunch at Raja's opp Bintang...it was very very quiet. Food was tasty though.
Lazy afternoon to let the Buscopan do its thing then taxi's up to Discovery where I searched the place for SKINS for my sons footy !! NO go...,most of them didnt really know what I wanted and it is hard to explain.I kept getting the blank looks and then "sorry finis" Oh well I tried !!
Went to Un's tonight for a lovely meal, Tuna with Dill sauce for my friend and I had Grilled Mahi Mahi on potato and creamy sauce YUM.They give you a free drink and starter on arrival too.
Walked home down Poppies lane to the beach and home.
Got my Business cards from taka tonight, he seems to be there all hours in that tiny shop and is alwyas reday for a chat. He's a really nice guy.
Monday 11th. Rico picked us up today to go to the John Hardy Jewellery showroom near Ubud. We left about 9 so headed into Denpasar first where I mentioned to him I hadnt been able to get Skins and so he took me to a little sports store where I got a pair for 45,000 fixed price. !! Unreal...of course fussy teenager hasnt even tried them on yet cos they dont look identical to his skins GRRR.
From ther Rico took us to UD Erlangga (thanks Gadisdea )where we both bought a set of batik sheets. Mine were 105,000 for the largest size with 2 pillow cases, 2 bolster cases and a fitted sheet. ( wanted to be sure these would fit back home before I got more and they arent a perfect fit asd my mattress is too deep BUT for the price I can make do !!)
Had a good look through John Hardy which was interesting but I was a bit dissapointed to find that almost all the stock goes over seas and they only have a small amount on display....some beautiful pieces but nothing I just had to have !! Lucky for my credit card !!
From there we went to Kampung Cafe for lunch which felt a little out of the way and was very quiet but the food was lovely with a nice view.
Had a look at UC Silver on the way home and again they had some stunning peices but none I could commit to. They were the opposite to John Hardy in that they had enormous amounts of stock !!
Also had a look at Tegallalang and walked from shop to shop...my friend bought a painting for 250,000 ( which we paid later in Legian also so no big discount).
Headed home after this it was a long day. Walked down to Bianco for tea and had the salmon fillet for tea...very nice, just lacked a little of the shine of the beach strip places I thought but I loved the atmosphere in the back garden, definatley worth another visit.
On the way there we stopped in at Marly form Blai's sexy sandals and had the funniets time with him as he smoocehd up to my friend...all good for a laugh !!
Booked La Sal for tomorrow night for my b'day...so looking forward to going as I wanted to try it last year but didnt get there !!
