Well what can I say, this was (I think) every girls dream wedding. Some of you may know Yodi, he used to work as one of the pool motivators at the Dynasty, well on the 8/8/08 he and Ashlee were finally married.
There was a huge crowd of us, all traveled over for the wedding. Also Yodi's family and lots of Balinese friends. We all met at the front of the Dynasty Hotel, where a large bus took us from here to the Beach Hotel in Nusa Dua. When we arrived we were all greeted by Yodi and his groomsmen at the entrance to the hotel (thought this was lovely as we all got to see them and kisses and cuddles were going around - just perfect!!). We then followed the guys down the walkway to the front of the hotel where there is a beautiful bale, which was all dressed up for the ceremony.
The sun was shining and the bale which overlooked the water was just amazing. We were all given cold water and then took our seats (all the ladies were also given a fan, which I thought was a lovely idea).
Then we heard a flute playing and the bridesmaids started to walk down towards the bale, followed by Ashlee, who looked absolutely stunning. My friend and I had to keep pinching each other to make sure this was really happening!!! It is the most beautiful ceremony I have ever attended. Once the vows were read, we all gave the kisses of congrats and then the cameras started clicking.
We then got back onto the buses and went back to the Kartika Plaza in Tuben for the reception. Well this was the icing on the cake!! The setup was magnificent, the band from the Dynasty were playing, the sun was setting, honest it was just magic. Then about 10mins after we arrived these guys came and set up the most amazing ice sculpture with Ashlee and Yodi's name on it, just a shame they melt so quick, but was great to get photos with the happy couple next to it.
We all ate, danced, were entertained by Marcello (who is also one of the life guards who will be on Bondi Rescue), he was Yodi's best man and he is gorgeous, does the best Elvis impression ever. Just a beautiful night that none of us will ever forget.
I had taken a dress with me to wear to the wedding so only had to find shoes, etc. As we were going to be on grass I didn't want a stiletto heel so the search was on for a nice wedge heel. Looked everywhere and didn't find the right pair until the day before. There is a little market 2 doors down from Kuta Kids on Bemo Corner, they had the nicest shoes ever, I ended up taking all the girls there and lets just say I bet they're glad I found them. I alone bought about 10 pairs heheh.
Had my hair done at the hairdressers in Discovery (sorry cant remember the name but got it from here), so cheap, had a wash blowdry and curls (not that they lasted long) all for 32,000. Must say though, the girls in there are not real friendly, its like they are only there because they have to be!! Oh well they got the job done so that's all I wanted anyway.
Found some great costume jewellery downstairs at Discovery, really cheap so bought heaps more than I really needed but now I'm home I'm glad I did hehe.
More to come...cheers Trace.
