First of all, did you mean that just the KL-GC leg (one way) is going to cost $1200? If this is the case, I wonder whether you're looking at the price in Malaysian Ringgit?
I just looked at the Air Asia website, and the price of this leg in early December ranges from about AUD 310 (RM 930) to AUD 645 (RM 1873)
For return flights you can go KL-GC-KL for as little as AUD 723 (RM 2111), travelling on 12/12 and 21/12. I guess you need to be a bit flexible with dates to get the really cheap fares..
