I booked Jetstar specials PER-DPS return - one ticket I got for $360 approx including taxes and booking fee and also booked another for 6 months later at approx $500 including taxes, so it can be done. Each ticket included the 20 kg baggage allowance. You just have to keep watch and when you see a special book it straight away.
