Buying up Jetstar seats but I suspect they do with other airlines. I pestered our travel agent before Christmas to book us two cheap seats to Phuket in Oct 09. However, when she looked into the system early in the new year ALL but one of the cheap seats were sold (this was confirmed by Thai Airways) The second booking class was about $350 dearer.
If you make a dummy booking with Jetstar DPS-MEL for 6th June you can select a seat... You cannot book a seat before row 26 or 27. I'm picking they are saved for the people who pay for flexi fare.
