We too have fussy children and we always take quite a bit of food with us - never had a problem. When they were babies we used to take all our baby supplies - ie formula, nappies, wipes etc...
Like the others have said most things are available but some of it is more expensive or (in the case of fussy children) it tastes a bit different.
Also you end up with room in your baggage to put all your purchases on the way home.
One other thing we always take is Milk. We freeze about 4 x 1 litre cartons of milk and pop them in our suitcases - wrapped well in case of leakage. We live in Perth and when we arrive in Bali it is still frozen. I found that once the kids were not drinking forumla anymore the milk came in handy as they were drinking the same milk that they drink at home (my fussy kids can tell the diff between WA milk and Bali milk LOL)
