Not such a far drive as Lovina so you could do a day trip, don't just stop up the top at Peneloken (You'll be surrounded by sellers, great views but move quickly and can be cold) drive down to the Lake, the first village is Kedisan (great views and the weather is always great) You can hire a bicycle and ride around the Lake. Then you could go to Toya bunka and go to the Hot Springs. Really nice place of Bali if you just don't let the local guides try to sell you anything (everything is fake). The Volcano Mt Batur is a magnificent site. You can do the drive from Kuta to Kintamani in 2 hours if you go via Bangli or 2.5 hours if you go via Ubud (you'll probably want to stop and see Ubud on the way - it's worth a visit as well and the rice paddy views are amazing just past Ubud)
