would be comparable to the mod shops, we had ours done ages ago for $100.00 and that was with the chip, maybe 5 years or more ago, never had a problem.
Another thing, sometimes cheaper to go to a 2nd hand shop such as Cash converters and buy a whole new console with the chip already in, remember once chipped there is no warranty.
