Same here, too expensive, but you can always go for lunch. They usually let you use the swimmingpool then if you want.
We are starting our Bali trip at Tegal Sari next year, then moving to a house. Staying in Bali for about 4 months, so need more space than just a hotel room.
I can also reccomend Cendana Resort & Spa. Stayed there 6 or 7 times. No luxury resort, but very nice setting on Jl. Monkey Forest.
