Left on the 8th from Perth with my daughters Barjah and M for a mum and daughters week. Had a very good flight over with Garuda, attentive cabin crew with the drinks trolley coming down the aisle quite a few times. Cant say that for the trip back as had to ask for a drink, even water.

Stayed at the KP which we find well located. Have stayed in Y Block before but this time A block. Unfortunately room was very grubby and I found the noise from the laneway at the back even during the night to be very noisy with motorbikes. The pool was fine, and as always the staff are very good, in particular the restaurant staff. Next time I would try the new wing if the old block has not been refurbished.

Had a few Bintangs on the beach and of course bought a few bits and pieces from the boys there. Bought a good headlight which we will use on our camping trip. Girls said why would I buy that but when I got back hubby said I should have bought two. Also bought a lovely pearl necklace and bracelets. Always find the boys outside the KP not pushy and always up for a chat. Just relaxing to see the sunset with a bintang in your hand.

We did the usual shopping, bought some tops at Ketuts and various other places, had two pairs of sandals made at Dolphin Leather which I was very pleased with. Also had some tops and a pair of men's trousers made at House of Komang which I also was very pleased with, and prices were reasonable especially as I had not brought material. The girls had a spending spree also, leather belts made, bought tops, metal geckos, bags, cushion covers and kids clothes. Bought quite a few kids clothes at Rayamanas and Indigo. I had a doona cover and cushion covers made at Supa Pillow. We also had photos put on to canvas at Shoots. We were very impressed with them as I had a photo sixty years old put onto canvas and turned out really well. M also had quite a few of her family put on to canvas and the fellow who did it spent time with her making sure she would be happy with the result. Would certainly recommend them.

Barjah and I went on the cycle tour with Bali Baiks which we really enjoyed and would thoroughly recommend. There were quite a lot of people on the tour but we were split into groups. We were in the group with the families which we were happy about as I am in my mid sixties and happy to say I did the whole bike run (must say I walked up the hills) so no need to be worried if you are mature aged - not only for the young ones, for the young at heart also. Wayan and his helpers were great and the meal provided by his lovely wife was delicious. We met so many lovely people on this tour, from England, Scotland Holland and all over Aus so was doubly interesting.

We also visited our friend and her family at Singapadu. We usually bring clothes etc over for them. Our usual driver and friend Made, whose lovely new car can be found outside the Melasti, drove us up and then on to Tellallagang. Lots of roadworks being done there and really we wasted an afternoon as anything we wanted to buy, especially metalwork in particular the geckos, was unavailable for sale only order.

Had a couple of massages at the Melasti, at Chill and pedicure and facial at Briella, all of which we enjoyed. Lovely to be pampered and we girls loved it.

Didnt venture far for restaurants, Bali Beach Shack, KP and the Miramar., and a couple of other places whose name s escaped me. Maybe I had the jolly green frogs there!! The Miramar was very good value for money and have always enjoyed a meal there.

Unfortunately M got a dose of the bali belly towards the end of the trip but our friend Eric from KP gave her Diapet so that gave her some relief. Told her also to drink guava juice which she hated. We remembered the raspberry juice a week before we left but didnt remember to take it with us. Silly billys. Next time, it will be the first thing to pack.

All in all, we had a great six days, and wasnt long enough. Enjoyed the girls company and hopefully do it again. If not, and I am sure they'll come as both love Bali, will have to try and persuade hubby to come next time. I do love Bali
