I did the day trip with Wayan and Bali Bike in May. Honestly, it was a fabulous day and a highlight of my trip. BUT...there were at least 3 large hills that we had to ride up. I enjoyed the challenge of them as I had been trying to get into shape before the trip and they were challenging!!! The good news is that if you don't want to bike up them, you can either walk with your bike or go get in the support can. Lots of choices and if you chose not to ride, it's no big deal.
I haven't been on a bike in quite a few years so I found it abit intimidating to try and get through the villages without falling. All the kids put their hands out to hi 5 you (that's what we call it in Canada when you clap someone elses hand). Although that was alot of fun, I was abit nervous about losing my balance and wiping out all the kids in a village!
They provide lots of water and fresh fruit so no need to bring your own drinks. The lunch afterwards at Wayan compound was so lovely and a wonderful way to end the bike ride.
Wayan is a real gentleman...honest, sincere and very hard working. I'm sure there are other bike companies that are similiar with wonderful owners as well but I really liked Wayan and how he is giving back to his community.
