Hi Alleylou, here goes with my JBR,by the way, what does JBR stand for? I started planning this trip last year with my sister, she had never been out of the country before, had always wanted to go to Bali.I had been previously,1980,81,1983 being the last time I was there. My husband and 2 older kids had been to stay at BGH 2 years ago and they loved it.When I finally booked they only had a family room, ground floor, available, which turned out fine,a bit more expensive, not much though. The room had 1 pretty big bed 1 bunk bed and a rollerway, which was just as well as my daughter and her friend were also in Bali at the time and had to move from The Bounty Hotel to the APPin which they didn't think a lot of(no mod cons like air conditiong,tv or, god forbid, no DVD player!!).They came in around dawn and slept most of the morning, watched DVD'S and ate anything lying around in the fridge,we dubbed them the Vampire Rats.Anyway, the room was fairly old but it was clean and made up everyday, if you wanted.Apparently they are doing up a lot of the rooms, and I did see one in progress. The gardens are beautiful, they have 3 pools, one with a swim up bar and the newer smaller pool up near the beach end.BGH is absolute beach front. There were 2 weddings held while we were there.Breakfast outside every morning surrounded with ponds and tropical garden, lovley fresh food.I really think BGH is great value for what you pay.Kuta is only a short walk by beach or straight up the road 5-10 mins, but beware of the .....footpaths!!We went to Ubud one day to the markets, things seemed a lot cheaper and the bargaining not as fierce, got to see a little bit of the countryside on the way.Lots of shopping was done by both.Bags from Mary in Poppies2,Tailor & leather from Leo other end Poppies 2.
