The Melasti is a nice resort on beach - so if its the beach u want to be near there is a small hotel opposite the Melasti called the Sinar Indah - when i was at the Melasti in June these cottages were being renovated - had a look it seemed fine - basic room, bathroom air con, they had a small pool with swim up bar from memnory it was about 150,000 ($20 approx) rupiah a night including breakie, they had a great laundry service or u could use ana laundry up the street, excellent cheap eats close - eg The Corner Bar, JeJe's, Bamboo Corner, Le Monde and only a cab ride to night clubs.A walk through Melasti to beach. hope this helps Kory.
