Hi,
I purchased a small dvd player from Strathfields (Perth) for $29 a few years ago, we take it to Bali each year and it works like a chalm.
Plays all the dvd's without a problem, unless it is a very bad quality disc.
We pack it in one of the small padded lunch bags with zipper that kids normally take to school, so its gives you an idea of how small it is.Then just carry in hand luggage.
It's so convenient and if you don't watch many dvd's when on holiday you havn't wasted your money. If you change hotels or move around you dont have to worry about going back to original place to return it.
We did hire one about 3years ago.Think it was about $30 for 2 weeks.
But since then always take the portable one.
