I travelled to Bali with my hubby and two kids aged 7 and 8 and another family with two kids aged 7 and 3. We left Perth on the17th of Aug at 5.15pm with Garuda. Had a smooth flight landing in Bali around nine. Used VIP VOA for the first time and got through very quick, but still had to wait for my bag which was one of the last ones but that is the luck of the draw. Still was worth it not having to line up at another checkpiont as my kids call them. Headed to our hotel which was the Dynasty, got rooms went for a walk down the street, grabbed some water and hit the sack. Woke up the next morning to a very busy hotel and a cue to get into brekky. First time this has ever happened. Hotel is apparently at 95% till Jan and in some cases over booked.
First day was just spent lazing around pool and getting into Bali mode. Kids keen to go to Jennys shop to get some clothes and say hello to everyone. Tuesday was a shopppimg day with Made picking us up at 9.30 and hitting the pavement, to get most of shopping done early in piece.
Went to UD Erlangga got some sheets, shoes clothes and painting, then headed to hairdressing supplies and got a few goodies for work. Also went to Ramayana and Carefour. Got most things ticked off the chissy and shoppping list.
Wednesday was just spent relaxing, getting massage and nails done on beach. Thursday which was the hindu equivlent of our chistmas we headed to the safari park. As it was a holiday the locals got in for half price so was very full. We arrived about eleven and were shown to our rooms we had the two bedroom kifaru bungalows very nice and right near pool. Seen as it was hot and park very full we decided to go to the fun park in the afternooon and do the safari in the morning when animals were more active. Spent the afternnoon in the fun zone area then on way back got to play with Effie the baby chimp as park was closed to public and we where to only ones there. Headed back to our rooms and had tea by pool gettting watched by the Zebras and Rhino. Next morning had brekky with the lions and did safari, and elephant show then went back and had another swim before checking out. Was glad we had the nights accomodation as worked out well with the kids. Had late check out so got but to the Dynasty around 5.30pm.
The next two days where spent chilling out and going on a few walks, managed to stumble across pantai resturant on one of our beach walks so we had lunch there great value. Did art markets and Matahari, kuta sqare etc.
Monday we hit waterbom,( legs still recovering). All of the little kids slides are shut for matainance,when on new superbowl not as bad as boomerang. We used the voucher in the south kuta fun under the sun booklet which included lunch was quite a good deal. As usual a fun day was had by young and old.
Tuesday we went to the billabong outlet and actually managed to find a pair of size11 shoes yeh. Then headed to Geneva to stock up on school presies and some soft furnishings for the house.
Wednesday and Thursday were spent relaxing and treating oneself to several beauty treatments and massages.
Friday the Bali blues set in before I had even got on the plane. Headed home arriving on time at 4.00pm. Got through customs and then the doors that let you back into the real world. Wishing I could bring my little red flag home and wave it and dinner be put on the table. Had a great holiday and starting to save for the next. Work tommorow AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! how will I cope.
