8th Aug-21st Aug. Flew Virgin Blue 6.10am Adl-Mel then 9.55am Garuda Mel-Dps return 11.55pm Garuda Dps-Mel then 10.10am Qantas Mel-Adl arriving 11.am
9 nights Satriya Cottages Poppies 2, 4 nights Hard Rock Hotel.
I thought this year I would just to a summary of our time in Bali. We do a lot of the same things.

FLIGHTS
All good - 5 ½ hrs flight from Mel-Dps straight through customs, although no immigration forms on board plane so we all had to fill them out in Dps airport on arrival. The luggage took for ever to finally come out.

CUSTOM MADE GOODS
Tailor - Janoke, poppies 2. I had made a 3 piece suit (pants, skirt, jacket) perfect fit cost $58. Very happy. Hubby had a black vest made $12 and 5 black thin (60s look) ties made for all his band members.
Rang our usual leather guy to have a friends black sandals copied. Great copy $37
Kresnha Jelwelry - Bali Rani hotel. Ms. Pak remodelled my grandmothers amethyst stone into a lovely pendent. Just perfect $50. Last year she remodelled my gold and diamonds into a lovely heart shaped pendent.

TRAVELAN TABLETS
First time I have taken travelan and they worked really well. I usually get the tight rumbling tummy but this time no trouble what soever.

SATE BALI COOKING CLASS
Absolutely fabulous. 9.30am - 1.30pm Class of about 10. We cooked 4 sambals, vegie dish, vegies dish with peanut sauce, pork dish, mie goreng, spiced chicken parcels, fish in banana leaves and green sweet pancakes. Yummo! Also lots of tips and we also sampled 4 other sweets. I would recommend this course. You receive all the recipes and a small gift. The chef use to work for the Hyatt hotels in Bali.Cost 375,000 located in Seminyak.

DVD's & BLU-RAY
Emailed our dvd list to Hel*ie. He delivered to our hotel. Easy service with a friendly smile. We have a Blu-ray dvd player so also purchased 5 blue-ray dvds. We could not check these in Bali (shop did not have a player) so we were a bit concerned they would not work back home. They do work and excellent quality with only 1 stopping. Rp. 50,000 each. (should have bought more)

MASSAGES
Hubby had a back massage at Jenny's in poppies 1 for Rp.30,000
We spent a day in Ubud where I had a soothing 1 hr traditional massage at Zen spa. Rp.75,000 with ginger tea and fruit afterwards. Lovely setting of tropical garden with flowing water.

SAFARI PARK
Great day here and yes the lion seems to be drugged but the baby tiger cub didn't seem to be because he wanted to chew peoples arms. The safari bus trip amongst the animals is fantastic. The African villa's you can stay in look great so we are thinking of staying there next year.
BANDS
We always check out Siluet Band when in Bali. Hubby sometimes sings with them(he's a singer in a band in Adelaide). They have a new girl singer and the sound is good.
Skyline Band were playing at 'the Wave' night club and I thought they were very entertaining. Siluet's ex guitarist plays in this band. Hubby was invited up to belt out a few songs.

We ate lots and did lots of shopping as usual. Kuta was quite busy but still ok.
Sanur I thought was quiet which was surprising. Ubud was steady. Weather perfect with a lovely breeze. We could not get a late checkout at Hard Rock Hotel because they were fully booked. So we camped in their new lounge area in Centre stage from 1.00pm until 8.00pm. Next time we might hire a Cabana for the day and camp out at the pool. Its good-bye to the beautiful people of Bali. Thank-you all for you tips and hints. I hope I have given some back.
