We stayed at the Griya in March/April 09.
Depending on your mobility I would suggest the ground floor Deluxe renovated rooms. At first we were placed in Room 119 which had single beds (not king single) Then we moved next door to 118 which had a king bed and was very happy there.
These rooms faced the Art Gallery and so are very private if that's what you want. A short walk to the pool, restaurant for breakfast and the beach is only a few steps further with PLENTY of lounges facing the sea.
We found the Griya had healthy numbers of all age groups and Nationalities... despite my husband coming back after sussing the place out saying we were the youngest there (60 & 64) but we met many wonderful older and younger people. I think the Griya suits all generations because of it's location. Lots of lovely restaurants within a reasonable walking distance for people who can walk for short distances only.
I have read that the Griya have renovation plans to the main pool. So just be mindful and ask if these renovations will occur during your time there as it will make a tremendous difference to your enjoyment of the Griya.
Hope this helps.
